HW Lab.

Demanding needs of new trends in electronics education, forced us to integrate advanced applications of Real Time Systems, Embedded Systems and DSP to undergraduate and graduate education. We have compulsory Digital Signal Processing, Microprocessors, Hardware Architecture, Advanced. Microprocessor Systems, Robotics and Real Time Systems courses in our program. But we want to expand our projects’ range and also develop industry aimed projects.

In YTU Computer Engineering Department (http://www.ce.yildiz.edu.tr), Hardware division, we are working on hardware applications on microcontrollers, processors and DSPs projects such as areas sensors, robotics and control. At the undergraduate level we have compulsory hardware laboratory experiments:

We have 15 Desk for two people (total 30 people in an experiment) in hardware lab. equipped with:

1 Cadet Application Board ( can be used in logic and elecronics applications with variable voltage supply)

1 Function Generator

At the undergraduate level we have compulsory software laboratory experiments:

Departments of computer engineering has two software labs. First lab contains 30 thin clients which are connected to a Linux server. In software lab pl sql, sql plus, java, c, c++ and pascal is worked on. The Second lab granted by CASPER Computer contains high end 20 PCs having dual-core architecture. The department also has an IBM main frame and an oracle server.

The hardware configuration of linux server;

CPU: 4 * Xeon 3.0 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Hard Disk: 130 GB

The hardware configuration of oracle server;

CPU: 4 * Xeon 1.4 GHz
RAM: 1,39 GHz, 1,5 GB
Hard Disk: 30 GB

Main frame ;

There is a cluster with 8 nodes on main frame that parallel computing with Lam-Mpi implementation can be worked on. The total storage area is 1.1 TB.
